System Architecture

Our robust and tested Iris Farm Architecture (IFA) was designed, built and tested to support national solutions where millions of persons need to be checked in real-time.

Its scalability, ease of deployment and use makes it the perfect solution for countries seeking to secure their borders or track very large number of people using only irise recognition.

Its infinite expandability offers countries the unique ability to scale-up their Iris solutions without fear of reaching any size or performance limits, while maintaining constant response-times throughout the deployment stages.

You can download an overview of the Architecture by clicking here.
The main features of our IFA architecture are:

  • Plug and play integration into greater access management systems as well as airport management systems
  • Unlimited scalability in handling large Iris databases without loss of performance.
  • The support of very slow communication links; an Iris Workstation will still fulfill real-time Iris recognition requests with a link as slow as 33.6 KBs.
  • The automatic and unattended synchronization of enrolled Iris information from remote enrollment locations.
  • The uninterrupted search ability against the IFA during synchronization.
  • The use of separate hardware components for enrollment, central database and recognition functions. This maintains predictable performance and distributes the computing workload away from one focal point that could get overloaded or fail.
  • Automatic backup procedures to secure the enrolled databases.
  • Automatic switching to the secondary IFA location. This offers fail-safe solutions for those critical Iris Workstation performing recognitions that just cannot go down even when the main IFA site is down.
  • The architecture allows the addition of hardware to support whatever response-time and database size the country needs for its deployment. Our solutions are carefully configured to meet needed performance criteria.
